CPA Alberta Social Entrepreneurship Award Finalist
On September 24, 2022, Power Properties was named 1 of 3 finalists for the CPA Social Entrepreneurship Award, presented by the Calgary Chamber. This award is given to the Calgary small business that has been a leader in finding ways of doing business while doing good for the large community and environment. Each finalist was chosen for this award because they truly look out for the triple bottom line - people, profits and planet. The other two finalists for this award were PULP SHRED and Included by Design. On October 21, 2022, PULP SHRED was named the winner of the award.
Power Properties was considered for this award for its efforts in giving back to the community through charitable donations and volunteer time. Some prime examples include donating $15,000 to Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta and supporting their organization in their efforts to create affordable housing in Calgary. Power Properties also values the Calgary community, and donates free office space to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Alberta, so they can concentrate their money and efforts on granting wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses. In addition, Power Properties hosted it’s first-ever Stampede Breakfast in the summer of 2022, collecting donations for the Calgary Food Bank.
