Supporting Affordable Housing with Habitat for Humanity

In May 2026, the team at Power Properties proudly participated in our 9th build day with Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta, continuing a partnership that has now contributed a total of $67,000 toward affordable housing initiatives in Southern Alberta.
This year’s build took place at Dawson’s Landing in Chestermere, where Habitat for Humanity is building 24 affordable row townhomes designed to help local families build long term stability. The homes feature open concept kitchen and living spaces, energy efficient appliances, outdoor parking stalls, and optional basement development with up to two additional bedrooms and a bathroom. Located in the growing community of Dawson’s Landing, the project will provide families with a safe and comfortable place to put down roots and build their future.
Habitat for Humanity helps working families achieve affordable homeownership through an accessible mortgage model geared toward low to moderate income households. Families who qualify for a Habitat home must demonstrate housing need, the ability to manage homeownership costs, and a willingness to partner with the organization through volunteer hours and participation in the program. The goal is to help families build long term financial stability through safe and affordable housing.
We’d also like to give a huge thank you to our tenants, property owners, and team members who contribute monthly donations to support organizations like Habitat for Humanity. Tenants and owners donate $1 per month, team members donate $5 per month, and every dollar is matched by Power Properties. These donations go directly toward building materials and supplies used for projects like Dawson’s Landing.
We are incredibly proud to continue supporting initiatives that create safe, affordable housing for families across Southern Alberta, and we truly couldn’t do it without the continued support of our community.
